The roadmap proposes to formulate projects in successive phases of varying duration, from six months to eighteen months, corresponding to as many stages in the life of the project. Each phase is associated with:
Point | Content (1 or 2 pages per phase) |
---|---|
Duration | Duration of the phase, from six months to eighteen months. |
Tasks | A brief description of the work to be carried out. |
Milestone | An end-of-phase milestone that represents an objective for the phase. |
Risks | The key elements of the phase with regard to the scientific or technological risk or impact, as well as one or more assessment criteria for removing the risk and its consequences for the project. |
Project leader’s commitment | The time that the project leader or team agrees to devote to the project during this phase. |
Resources | The resources requested in the programme at the start of the phase. |
The roadmap is produced by the project leader during the application process, after the appraisal phase. Its format and size are restricted: one or two pages per phase, plus one page of administrative data and a financial appendix for the entire project. A template for this roadmap is available on the resources page. The document can be completed in French or English.
Any revisions to the roadmap during the course of the project are presented to and discussed by the PIQ Expert Committee, which issues its opinion on whether the new roadmap should be approved or if the project should be terminated prematurely. The committee bases its decision on the end-of-phase report submitted by the project leader, the revised roadmap submitted by the project leader and the progress report produced by PIQ Management.
A data management plan should be drawn up within the first 6 months of the project and therefore included in the relevant phase of the roadmap. The data management plan will be updated in the final active phase of the project.
